Thanks, I'll check it out.
How does this differ from Sereby's IE8 addon?

From Onepiece's IE8 addon, nothing: just entries.ini file and a few variables in IE.inf. I hope Onepiece will consider this clone as an appreciation to his work...
Don't ask for a different configuration of Onepiece's XP AIO Update Pack: use one of the existing vanilla XP UpdatePack with your preferred addons instead

Hello user_hidden, and this is a joke?

with all due respect you and even now I want to judge why the fate (let it sees the community, and every addon maker please download the addon, and after judging), but that and a clone with all that includes the word, are really deleted and I am really curious to know the reasons that prompted you to do this?

and a thing without precedent ", the only change they changed line

Code: Select all

MuiCultureDirectory        = "en-US"
MuiCultureLangIdHex        = "0409"
IE_BASE_DESC               = "Internet Explorer 8 (For Windows XP SP3)"
NAME                       = "OnePiece Update Pack"
VERSION                    = "1.4.0"
UpdateRegKey               = "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates"
SERVICE_PACK_NUMBER        = "0"
IE_PRODUCT_NAME            = "Windows XP"
IE_PRODUCT_DESC            = "Windows Internet Explorer 8"
KEY_OPTIONAL               = "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\OptionalComponents"
KEY_HOTFIX                 = "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\HotFix"
SP_TITLE_SECURITY_UPDATE   = "Security Update for"
Cumulative_Security_Update = "KB972260-IE8"
Compatibility_View_List    = "KB972636-IE8"
ProductCatalogsToInstall   = "CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}"
in

Code: Select all

NAME = "Internet Explorer 8 Update Pack"
VERSION                    = "1.0.0 20090728"
HFREGPATH		   = "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\HotFix"
IE8UPDATES		   = "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP0"
IE8SEC = "Security Update for Windows Internet Explorer 8"
IE8UPD = "Update for Windows Internet Explorer 8"
and removing the credit to entries.ini? (What is it, What does that mean)

are very much suppressed, and most still do not believe and why this happened to someone like you?

and a clone, not to say any more, and I believe it is not a good precedent for this community

I do not know really what to say more, I leave to others to judge this thing.

Hello, you hear me now go into all the levels that we both do not honor us, okay

I believe this is not good (and as already too joke)

1.4.0 version that you want to see?, and a CLONE, no need to add anything, leave to others to judge on this I really do not find words to say the least

and I believe I am not sorry at all for the addon, no, but I am sorry to see this thing to you, not just preparing for a user like you, never (because I consider you an advanced user)

believe it or not, but even now does not seem real

even now that I'm writing, or not anything against you or your work, I am only too sorry for this and that happened.

Well, it's obvious that the copyright of IE8 is not of onepiece, so being so upset for nothing is a non-sense. It's the same situation in the italian forum: a user posted an addon, and during the night this one make another versions of the same software, claiming that his versions is better.
And now repeat that I'm the troll, 'cause I've write about the "onepiece method" long time ago.

I hope that user_hidden cooperate with Sereby for the english version of his addon, as I did with the italian one!

LOL, there are only a few ways to integrate these patches/hotfixes. It's inevitable that addon makers will use the same methods as someone else.
Now if the .ini and .inf used identical wording, then and only then would I suspect plagiarism. Otherwise it's just similar thinking and similar methods, which should not be a problem.
