I just wanted to point out that all of us need to be careful not to put any files in our packs that have the same name as another file in someone elses addon pack. Remember... all of the files get extracted to the I386 directory... so if there are any simular files... they will overwrite eachother and cause one of the packs to not function properly. There are some Theme addons out there that I have noticed the file NormalColor.dll is being used. Just remember... the last theme integrated with that file is the only theme using that file that will work correctly.
So let's try to be careful and not use the same file names.. unless the idea is to have it overwrite something.

i have one as well but since my theme file uses the se222 shellstyle it doesnt really matter if it gets overwriten.
--but ive been changing it in my new theme addon im testing, from now on all my normalcolor.dll will be called bugabear%ThemeName%.dll

I already foresaw this is a potential problem earlier since i was repacking all the theme addons into one consolidated theme addon for my own consumption.
Could i just simply rename the other NormalColor files? Or i just don't know what i'm talking. Flame me if you like

@troscat, you can name the dll anything you want, just make sure that the entrie in txtsetup.sif renames it back to normalcolor.dll when copying to disk
@avneet25, came from lineage 2 c3 im currently doing the quest where i have to kill bugbears

I don't think i can handle that. I'll just wait for your updated theme addons.
Thanks anyway.

You will need to extract the dll. Rename it. Then
Code: Select all
modifype.exe filename.dll -c
MAKECAB.EXE /D CompressionType=LZX /D CompressionMemory=21 filename.dl_
Now delete NormalColor.dll from the addon cab. And put the new filename.dl_ into the addon cab.
Now open the entries file and search for NormalColor.dll and replace it with filename.dll
That's it... now it's fixed.

I have extracted all the addons I am using into the same folder using WinRAR.
Here are my findings
LE3 and LE4 both include UXTHEME.DL_ in addition to the UXTHEME addon that I have used
LE3 and LE4 both have the same filename for the entries file

I think they are using a different UXTheme as well.

Thanks for this reminder Siggie. I suspect this a common reason for many of the failed installations peeps complain about here. I always try to give my addon files a unique name to avoid filename collisions with other files on my CD, and especially if I have made two different versions of the same addon. Better to be safe than sorry IMO
