*sigh*, like as if you are using/needing _every_ update from Ryan's pack? It's the same as installing an update for Outlook Express while you are using Mozilla Thunderbird. It won't bother, since it are just .dll files getting updated BEFORE installing XP. I'm not using HighMAT either, that's not the point.
Well drr, that goes without saying.ViVa wrote:*sigh*, like as if you are using/needing _every_ update from Ryan's pack? I don`t want highmat in that`s my choice, end of.
This is a poll that`s my opinion.

I'm personally leaning towards just WGA, but I could go either way (I mean, HighMAT was originally in my update pack
).

OK, I just changed my vote from "Yes" to "No". They argue well who say that the UDP is built for Hotfixes and Addons and Program Addons are sui generis -- they are "their own thing" and the thing of those who choose them because they really want them in their setup. "For everything, there is a season ... and a reason."
In just the last two weeks, the Unattended CD project has been rapidly evolving in the direction of greater, and more individual, choice. The tools are great, they're stable and much used to create Setups of lasting value. People are starting to make addons (or ask for addons to be made) that integrate readily using the same tools that integrate the service packs. Bring it on, I say. Let it continue this way to saturation point. Let the UDP and its updates be the foundation, without redundancy, of many personalized variants using addons, uberaddons and program addons and tweaks that people choose according to desire or need.
Lavish praise to those of you who are doing the heavy lifting here! Msfn.org is the site with more useful knowledge than any other I have ever encountered.

Damn ^^^ Those are some fine words, But what did you actualy say
Highmat works fine as an addon but i feel wga should be part of the pack, It means that the user is not presented with any required updates when they visit WU or MU.
Also it has the bonus of removing those posts from users who dont understand what they are being asked to download and think the pack has failed.

I don't see how having to update WGA from time to time is any different from me updating MRT every month...
