.net 4 for Win7???
I have been at this one for 4 hours...
I desperatly need a .net4 for win7 FRESH INSTALLS (NO winupdate or anything)
The ones here work awesomely BUT they error out without KB958488 installed before them.
I can not get the KB958488.msu to run silently at all...
Please if someone has the know how to build one of these for both x64 and x86. (Hopefully slimmed but size is kinda moot point.) please try to add yumeyao's optimization routine to it to.

have tried this http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8317 ??
with this if you can also integrate directly into the install.wim update.msu (not tried, but I think we should be ok)
Ciao.

Kel, download this admin install/prepared 7zip package here
Also download the msp updates and place them in a same name folder (Hotfixes_Client_x*, etc.) of the extracted archive and run the bat file that is in the archive (not the hotfix) dir to integrate the msp updates
To silently install simply run the msi (no switches are needed)
BTW if you are installing on Win7 sp1 you dont need KB958488 and this is best integrated if you do

I am trying to get a pack for a coupla wpi users (myself included)
I\we NEED both 86 & 64 bit, Fully silent and able to install on a fresh format of windows 7.
All of the ones on here error out unless winupdate has been run first.
The standard client installer from ms works fine but is in no way optimized or stream-lined.
(this makes my OCD go wacko)
Everything I have found said I needed that hotfix I previously named for the custom installers to work.
If it was included in sp1 wouldn't it refuse to install?
EDIT:
Just ran ANOTHER test. KB958488 was installed by the standard dotnet40 installer on win7 sp1

It does not matter weather or not you install KB958488 on sp1, because you can extract the files from the hotfix, compare them to the ones on your hdd and see they are not copied/used
I have a set of .net4 slim setup MST's that you can use to remove the junk from the installers after you update them (I also know a trick for adding back the icon)
Here is my tutorial on preparing the installer for updating (not needed if you use solor's 7z)
Here is my tutorial on sliming down the installer (not needed if you use the mst's)
Here is my tutorial on adding back the uninstall icon (optional)

Kel, have you tried the installer created by troubada created here http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9013 about halfway down the page. It works on Windows 7 for both x32 and x64. It actually works quite well.
A mind is like a parachute, it only functions when it is open.

Here you can dl the installer I prepped by doing admin install and integrating KB971891, for direct msi install run with EXTUI=1 (not needed if you apply the slimming mst's)
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/thread ... post487987
Just put SoLoR's updates in the folders of the same name and run cmd, if you want to slim apply the mst's with insted, save and do another admin install to leave the junk behind
