New subforum for theme addons?

In my opinion it's nice that ppl make theme addons, but it's kinda 'polluting' the Update Pack Addons forum... I think it's better if they have their own forum to keep a good view. No offense to the theme addon creators, I think they do a great job!

I agree. It's hard to find stuff as it is now. Organization works for me.
Edit: Though the addon sticky works too as long as it gets updated often.
So I guess either way works.

I think it's pressuring for Siginet anyways to keep it daily updated. Anyway, wether Siginet would update daily or not, I still think it's better for the overview to split the theme addons.

If I could do multiple levels of subforums, this would already be done. However, the phpBB mod I'm using for subforums only allows them to be one level deep.

Ryan, maybe you could make 2 subforums under Update Pack Discussion:

* Program Addons
* Theme Addons

or something.

But you don't see the point of splitting things up to have a better overview? So to have 2 subforums under Update Pack Discussion, instead of 1.

Not bothered either way so didn`t vote, i update the download sticky often and i know kell does aswell don`t know about ryan or siginet... and the last edit date is at the top.

I put that I don't have an opinion, but I really do, in that it's up to Ryan in what he wants to do with his site, I'm happy either way.

Why does it have to be a sub forum?
Just Park it next to the original addon forum, one for utils and apps and another for themes and related.

I agree the themes could do with being in there own forum.

I may reorder the forums next week. Instead of having addons be a subforum, I could make it a main forum and have subforums underneath it for different categories.

That would be great, would it also be possible to put all requests in their own thread? This way we don't get a headache looking at the thread names which have [Request] and [Release] in them... And maybe a "Beta Testing" thread for when a pack is initially released so people who don't have someone to test their addons, (such as myself,) can release them there first before someone puts them into it's corresponding "released" thread?

Not if there was one for "Apps/Utilities" another for "Switchless Installers" one for "Themes" one for "Requests Only" and one for "Betas" it would seperate them and make it easier to find things...especially if you combined the Update Pack and Switchless Installers into one thread again.

Add On Packs and Switchless Installers Discussion\

\Released and Tested Apps & Uttilites\
\Released and Tested Switchless Installers\
\Released and Tested Themes And Related\
\Requests (Put All Requests in this thread ONLY!)\
\Betas (Files that have been released but have yet to be tested by others)\

Then if someone would, they can make a sticky and put it in the Discussion thread linking to the "Released and Tested" files one for each catagory, this way it would make it easier to find the files that are listed in them. Also if a pack has broken or didn't work correctly that was "Released" they can move it into the "Beta" folder so the owner knows to repair it.

IF it's possible, they can then lock the "Released" threads so that noone can make a new thread but the Admin\Moderators and only they can move the files from the "Beta" folder to it. You'd still be able to post inside the threads but not be able to create any new ones, if you want to create a new thread that's what the main one and the "Requests" one is for.

Thereby giving them more control over what's released and what's not working, while at the same time remaining functional for the packmakers to recieve feedback in the respective threads for each pack. It would also clean it up so that it's easier to find stuff and hopefully will keep peoples eyes from going crosseyed when they attempt to read the multitude of threads for "Released" and "Requested" files.

But that's just my opinion though. Since Ryan's already talking about changing it anyways, I was just giving him some ideas on how to do it...
