XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack for Windows XP Post-SP3 20180109

I have a little problem if i chanage in "qfeUpPck.inf" a registry entry from HKCU to HKU then this registry entry is not getting integrated so are all the registry entrys that come after this one.

Why would you change HKCU to HKU, Outbreaker? Which line are you changing? Need more information.

user_hidden has adds this registry entry in "qfeUpPck.inf":

But the Official Flash Player installer is adding this registry entry:

Need to see what you have for [ExtraFileEdits]. The problem seems to be there.

Have your results changed? "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" = "HKCU".

That's what HKU\.DEFAULT is for. But it seems unnecessary in this case since the Flash Player version is likely to change every month. HKCU should be good enough.

Have you added FLASHPPVERSION to the [Strings] section of qfeUpPck.inf?

Okay in tried it with "HKU\.DEFAULT" 2 times but it's still not working and has the same effect as "HKU". I don't see what else i could try.

I took a look at some inf files and i saw that i did it wrong.

I should have done:

Okay i finally finished this Flash Player Plugin addon, everthing is working fine the only little problem i have is that the file "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil32_12_0_0_38_ActiveX.exe" is not getting deleted when uninstalling the Flash Player ActiveX. But beside that everything is looking to work like it should.

Just installed UpdatePack_20140114 and see the following in
setuperr.log:

This looks like it might be a problem with KB2749655. Anyone else seeing this on XP or know what the problem might be?

edit: even though I see KB2749655 entries in qfeUpPck.inf, I can't find it when I scan the registry after installation. It did
not show up in QFECHECk either.

I found out what the problem was:
1. The KB2749655.cat file was missing in the UpdatePack folder "svcpack".
2. At the qfeUpPck.inf file the ",KB2749655" entry was missing under "[QFEUpdatePack]" -> "AddReg".

I have a question how should i integrate the KB2878379-v2 HotFix in this UpdatePack?
If i extract the HotFix i have 2 dpcdll.dll files in 2 folder different folders on in "ic" and one in "ip", which one should i replace with the one that is in the UpdatePack "home" folder?

Strange the KB2878379 HotFix only installs 2 out of 4 files on a WinXP-Pro. Installed (licdll.dll, winlogon.exe) Not Installed (ipmntdpc.dll, dpcdll.dll).

dpcdll.dll and ipmntdpc.dll are the same file, the dpcdll.dll in \ic will only install on windows xp home and \ip will only install on xp pro retail (I think) but not in vlk

No, it will cause your serial to stop working...if the installer did not add it, its for a good reason

In my Spanish updatepack I only add the dll to the home folder, the pro I leave it out

I don't know if the DllCache is need i added them because user_hidden has added them for the other HotFixes too.
But the "BuildDate" entry should be "Wed Sep 04 03:23:17 2013" that's the ic/dpcdll.dll file the other one is for the "ip/dpcdll.dll" file, and "KB2838379P" should be "KB2878379P".

I am living in Spain now...therfore I would like to switch from english to spanish interface for windows xp...I am living with native spanish people so
Which is the best way to do that ?

From what I know the MUI XP Pack installs very old libraries dated from 2001, so it will overwrite the latest english files installed through the current U_H update pack.
Does it worth to use this method of changing the language from english to spanish...or should I seek for the spanish version of both...the XP iso source ...and some spanish update pack similar to this ?

dllchache I only use if the file is NOT being used on the system.

as for the 3 or 7 in the xphome.inf it's of no issue as I did it on purpose.
the inf will run and call the correct code section.

i finally found the best way to continue making the xp on english and change the language in a matter of seconds in any of the 28 languages a custom made app from "Egy-Mor Team" does...spanish language included
without even logging off the xp !!

Yeah, I saw that. But for an app, I want to see where the developer hangs his hat. And just because a torrent file was uploaded recently doesn't mean the app itself still doesn't date back to 2009. I try to be as careful as I can about using any app or downloading anything from somewhere or someone I don't know.

Somehow I forgot to check that. Been preoccupied all day today. A newer version is available in KB2533552 if you're interested. Same files used in an addon of mine. However, at least one WMP11 addon includes the same older version of the file from KB927374, so the newer file would be overwritten without some winnt.sif trickery when slipstreamed with RVMi.
