I don't really know if it works in XP I'll try to test it when I've got a chance.

In case of Win2k it's like this:

mxdwdrv.dll/0.3.7601.21853 <- has dependency problems
mxdwdui.dll/0.3.7601.17514 <- no dependency issues

I didn't want to mix file versions too much so I just sticked to

mxdwdrv/0.3.6002.22298
mxdwdui.dll/0.3.6002.22298

both of which have no dependency problems. As mxdwdui.dll/0.3.7601.17514 seems to be compatible with Win2k, I guess it'll also work in XP

I test v0.3.92xx XPS driver on XP.
It didn't work.

print something using microsoft xps document writer. FAILED...

Now I'm back using v0.3.72xx XPS driver.
Something ain't right about this v0.3.92xx driver...

But its not working on XP.

Why? It has a problem with Printer Processor NT EMF.

Anything with 9 don't work on XP, for example:
ps5ui.dll -> 0.3.9200.20854 -> A.B.Cxxx.Dxxxx
C -> 9 -> anything with 9, don't work on XP anymore (KB2900635 - Year 2013 - Win81 Build Date)
C -> 7 -> anything with 7, work on XP (KB2701894 - Year 2012)

"pjlmon.dll" import "_except_handler4_common" function in msvcrt.dll.
"_except_handler4_common" in msvcrt.dll exist on vista and up, but not in XP.

I dont think you are correct about the #9, dont recall but there had to be one with the number 9 that was working ok

Forgot to remove pjlmon.dll, will do when I find the last working files if I find the time

OK, so tested and all the above 3 work. Seems to be a problem with 9600 winblue files, 9200 win8 files work just fine

Culprit seems to be mxdwdrv.dll, can you check what diff between 9200 and 9600 could be causing this?

I used the version v1.2.6.7 and it messed up my XP installation and wasted a lot of time and CDs trying to identify the defective addon by a process of elimination. Here are the errors that I identified:

Services would not start start because Framedyn.dll and Srclient.dll were not found

The product catalogs were placed in a folder named svcpack in the addon which meant that a new svcpack.in_ file was was written over the existing svcpack.in_ file in my source thus removing all of it's entries.

The User Profile Hive Cleanup service that had been included as an addon was not registered in the services.msc dialogue box

Paint and Wordpad had been uninstalled.

Various shortcuts in the start menu were missing.

My old pc had broken.
I didn't use winxp anymore.
I post in here for nostalgic purpose.
Btw, I use all that 3 KB in my win7.

Also, if I'm remember correctly @ricks use win7 [dot]cat file. I don't know if xp recognize [dot]cat from win8. Since xp had a problem recognize a sign file with sha256.

I can provide all the files if someone having difficult to extract it, although as long I can remember @seraph had that tool.

The addon should be fixed to be 8.3 compliant... but you shouldnt have to worry for now anyways. Ryans UpdatePack is not good for dos installations anyways at the moment.
