Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180715
Likewise, my testing shows no difference with MU regarding installed updates. KB4339093 is not offered again. The only updates listed are KB4134651-v1 and -v2.
Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180715
I did a fresh install on my laptop and... the only High Priority updates listed are KB4134651 -v1 and -v2.
I hid them and now I'm fine
The "Find Target" works well.

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180819
Updated to 20180819. Please read the Changelog for full details.
As reported by wyxchari on MSFN, two of the latest updates (KB4340937 and KB4343674) require processors that support SSE2 instructions. Apparently, Microsoft is dropping support for older processors that lack these instructions in all currently supported operating systems, including POSReady 2009.

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
Updated to 20180917. Please read the Changelog for full details.
As reported by wyxchari on MSFN, two of the updates Microsoft released for Patch Tuesday in August 2018 (KB4340937 and KB4343674) require processors that support SSE2 instructions. Apparently, Microsoft is dropping support for older processors that lack these instructions in all currently supported operating systems, including POSReady 2009.
For this reason I have reposted v20180715, which is the last version of this update addon to support these older processors.

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
Microsoft JET 4.0 OLE DB Provider is missing after integrating this pack(20180917).

According to some very basic common logic, this is proooobably caused by either KB4034775 - JET 4.0 Database Engine or KB4458006 - JET 4.0 - Engine Library and Excel ISAM(which I know are both vulnerability patches), but I'm by no means knowledgeable enough on the subject so I'd appreciate any input by people who are(@5eraph and maybe others).
Other than this, the pack works just fine(20180917).
This is what a person told me and then sent me a screenshot of providers in the msdn image and in an image with this updatepack integrated. It was kind of bad to read so i made my own:applications, which use MDAC 2.8 SP1, do not run:
The 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' provider is not registered on the local machine

If we report to answer.microsoft.com about oleaut.dll issue will MS notice it? I'm worried it wont fixed until the EOL time arrive.

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
In case you have an older processor (preceding AMD 64 or Pentium 4) then SSE2 support enforced by MS in updates released since August 2018 might be to blame. See the post from 2018-Oct-17 18:01 here:

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
In explorer with View->status bar checked, when I selecting fairly large executable ( >10mb ) and then try to shift-delete the file I get access denied error (file in use).
I don't remember this race condition happened in the past, no 3rd party shell extensions involved and the problem can be avoided precisely by unchecking View->status bar.
Anyone has same problem?

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
This is terribly frustrating. After keeping this project going for four years Seraph has abandoned it seven months before the the end of support for POSREADY 2009. Now every time I want to reinstall XP I have to install a big bunch of updates and lose the advantages of slip-streaming them into the install CD using the integrator. I wonder if we could figure out how to update the last XPSP3 QFE POSReady addon released on 17-08-2018 by studying the last addon released. Here are some thoughts on what may be involved.
Firstly how do we make a comprehensive list the last updates required to complete the addon? Should we make a fresh install of XP and let Automatic Update list the required updates after having made the POSReady 2009 registry hack, and if so should we install XP only with the last XPSP3 QFE UpdatePack released, or should we also include the last XPSP3 QFE POSReady addon released? Alternatively, should we examine the each update listed by Seraph at the Microsoft Update Catalogue to determine which ones have been superseded?
Then there is the problem of obtaining the updated files supplied by the updates. If you open up the updates you find a bunch of files with names like _sfx_0007._p. I assume that these are cab files. I have succeeded in extracting them by executing the update with the /X switch as in this example:
In the file 5erPOSUp.inf are registry entries for each update with headings such as [KB3033889.AddReg]. Do we copy the entries under the heading [Product.Add.Reg] from the update's inf file to 5erPOSUp.inf, and how do we define the entries for deleting registry entries such as [KB2962872.DelReg]? Other sections of 5erPOSUp.inf are challenging such as [T13]
The cat files from the updates are simply copied to the addon's SVCPACK folder, but the entries_POSUpdates.ini file really baffles me. It refers to qfeUpPck.inf which is not included in the addon. Is this a temporary file created by the integrator?
Your thoughts about how to proceed with the final update of the addon would be appreciated.

1. I created with nLite a WinXP iso with:

XPSP3_QFE_POSReady_Addon_20180917_5er.7z
XPSP3_QFE_EnablePOSReadyMU_Addon_20160311.7z

Addon_DirectX32_9.0c_Runtimes_201006.7z
2. WU offered me 40 POSReady updates, 1 IE8 update (KB4493435) and .NET.
3. I created with nLite a new WinXP iso by adding the 39 POSReady updates in the previous WinXP iso, because KB4494528 has a problem.
4. WU offered me KB4494528, KB4493435 (IE8) and .NET.
6. The solution for KB4494528 is after installation:
regsvr32 MSI.DLL
7. After installing the dotNetFx_AIO_x86_2019_02_12, WU offered me the KB968930 (PowerShell 2.0).
Let's hope that 5eraph will update the XPSP3_QFE_POSReady_Addon at some point in the future.

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
or use the "GH0stPak"
Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
I know the "GH0stPak".
In my opinion my method is more elegant, because it integrates all (almost) the updates in WinXP iso.
So we do not need additional updates after installation, except kb4494528 (msi.dll) and kb4493435 (ΙΕ8).
I've been testing virtual and real pc with success.

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
@kkoyama thank you for the DXUPAC information.
Ι know its existence, but the information for its use is a mystery!!!
For example it creates a huge OPMWXP.inf, that I do not understand its use.
I tried it and there was no problem.
So all right.
Now we can have update pack for "XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917"

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
My purpose is to create a WinXP .iso as up-to-date as possible with the help of
XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack for Windows XP Post-SP3 20180109 and
XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917.
Your own package is suitable for "Windows XP Service Pack 4",
it contains files that are not needed here.
My package has exactly what I need here.

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
My package is suitable to all XP variants.
Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
i'd rather add bits bits separate Framework AIO , WMP11 , IE8 , UpdatePack , POSReady Updates
and keep the sp3 as it is.. can make a iso image under 800MB then
i find the big sp4 messes things up with my builds.
im thinking same way as Nikos..

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
GH0st
1. My suggestion for the .bat file (because I did not upload a .bat file)
contains just the updates we need and not unnecessary updates.
I also suggest without imposing the /nobackup switch.
2. I have sorted the files in the same order as those installed by MU.
3. I have made comments on how best to use the updates.
4. The idea of .bat files has been known for decades ...
5. You are writing monotone "use GH0stPak for everything".
6. If you have some useful notice for improvement write it.
7. Do not forget that this thread is exclusively for
"[Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917".
8. The collection of some updates or creating a .bat file is an easy job that anyone can do,
the hard thing is what user_hidden, 5eraph, nonno fabio and harkaz do, and we owe a great thank you.
