[RELEASE] Boooggy's WMP 11 direct integration solution
Just for the record whatcounter is a seperate service to my hosting and i nor boooggy are responsible for their downtime.
Missing wmlaunch.exe file
Hi everyone,
Looking for some help here I am trying to use the Boooggy's WMP 11 slipstreamer with OEM PRO. Every time I do the slipstream I get this error when trying the install can't find file wmlaunch.exe What is this file and where would it be located? This is the order I am doing the slipstream in.
Clean Windows XP PRO OEM
Boooggy's WMP 11 Slipstream
RyanVm Integrator
Tried doing RMV first then the Slipstream and same error....
I have tried not using any other addons and I still get the same error if I don't use the WMP 11 Slipstream the install works fine? Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Dean

I had something strange happen today. Will post it here to see if anyone else experienced this!
I used Windows Updates to install the Critical Updates that came out yesterday, February 13. I installed all of them, including updates for Windows XP, Office 2003, and ie7.
When I rebooted, Windows Media Player 11 had disappeared, and seemed as though it had been uninstalled...!
The computer this happened on is my Desktop, which has a Pentium Extreme 3.47 GHz, nVidia 6800 GT and Windows XP Professional (Legit), which had been clean installed Unattended in December. Besides having slipstreamed the December RyanVM Update Pack, that install included Boooggie's December tweaked Windows Media Player 11...
I re-downloaded Windows Media Player 11 from Microsoft and installed it again, and it is working perfectly.
To further complicate figuring it all out, I had discovered "CoolWebSearch" on my computer; perhaps using Spysweeper (and for good measure CWShredder) prior to downloading the critical updates could have been a factor, if some of the infected files that were eliminated were system files...
If that was a factor, ignore my posting here. I just think it is more likely that the updates somehow detected that Boooggie's files were unsigned, and/or tweaked. If no one else here has had my problem, then it was related to CoolWebSearch.

Its not really a problem but the thing is i have to install every new version, then copy the .exe to portable HDD then uninstall. I know its your program and you should have your reasons to keep it as an installer, but it should be easier to use as a stand-alone aplication. This is the reason why i dont use nlite, I dont want to install it iin every pc i go to do integrations. Well at least with your program i just need a to copy the exe and use at work. Just my 2 cents. Great program though.boooggy wrote:then what is the problem????
after integrating wmp11 Windows Theme doesn`t workboooggy wrote:updated to version 0.6
i had this problem with 0.5 version and the same with the new one
i ve tested more then 12 times. with different combinations (vanilla, original, ryan 2.1.6 pack and 2.1.7 and so on)
if i do not integrate WMP11 everithing works great!
what is the problem?
i am using an alternative windows theme (integrate it through nLite)
if i do not integrate WMP11 everything is ok!
and your WMP integrator v0.3 worked great with absolutely the same my XP box
i integrate updates and addons winth nlite
and only after that i ran WMP11 integrator
starting from 0.5 version i can not use windows XP themes
only the classic one even when i try to run the theme manually (not integrating it)

Hello everyone, noob question here:
Has anyone had any problems with mp3 players after slipstreaming? I have a creative zen vision:m and after slipstreaming wmp11 and doing a clean install, Windows no longer recognizes the player. I always get an error saying that the MTP device failed to be recognized. My sequence of integrating was as follows:
Slipstream SP2
Slipstream WMP11 (tweak version)
Integrated post SP2 pack, IE7
nLite (removed windows messenger, tour)
Made ISO
Everything installed flawlessly, except now I'm getting this error. Before I reinstalled everything on my laptop I was also using WMP11 that I downloaded from M$ and my player was able to be recognized. Perhaps there is something in the tweaked version that's causing this error?
Thanks for your help!

The problem is in cabinet.dll v6.0 bundled with Vista.
To solve the problem temporarily while I investigate the changes needed, please expand cabinet.dl_ from your Windows XP source to the same folder as the WMP11Slipstreamer and then try slipstreaming again.
This will force wmp11slipstreamer to use the xp version of the cab functions.

i have exprianced only one issue with the slipstreamer.
i have win mce.
when patching the uxtheme.dll with an addon like for example zakam's patch, it edits the file.
if after i use the slipstreamer to add wmp11,it overwrites the uxtheme.dll file insted.
wich results in a non hacked uxtheme file.i think it would be better to use an edit patch than to overwrite the file,or in the gui ask the user to add the uxtheme fix or not..

bober that uxtheme is the original one provided by microsoft....and we add it casue its fixing the theme issues that many reported after slipstreaming wmp11 into windows source. i wont modify anything on slipstreamer regarding this. and please dont blame me, blame m$ cause they're only able to create more bugs with their new products........
if u want to have the patched one just use slipstreamer first and then integrate your patched one.
updated both addons with
kb928788
kb929399
kb929773
kb931756

dont get me wrong im not "blaming" any one. do you know exatcly what ms is doign to the uxtheme? or is it replacing the current one in the os by an other one with a new build number?
but if the uxtheme.dll in the slipstreamer was patched, wouldint it be ok?
