SATA drivers for XP
SATA drivers for XP
could someone add SATA drivers for XP so win xp could be installed on a system that came with Vista after formating the drive to remove Vista.
Check out www.driverpacks.net. That is the best method for adding all sata drivers.

I personally prefer my own list of SATA drivers which are covering most of southbridges used on todays motherboards and laptops.

Hi
As I said in my previous post, I prefer direct integration only of most necessary drivers of most used controllers, just enough for seamless OS installation.
But my pack supports also ICH9 AHCI mode (for DEV_5029), most of NVIDIA's controllers in one archive and something what DriverPacks don't - drivers for newest ATI/AMD's SB700 (ahcix86 v. 3.1.1540.25).
Do not planning to maintain it as a pack, addon or whatever - but If someone of you guys would find my collection of SATA drivers useful, you can download it on Rapidshare.
SATA drivers pack (no version number or so - just a bunch of files sorted into respective directories)
Oh, I forgot to mention - there are also drivers for NVIDIA SMU (System Management Unint) and ASUS's ATK100 monitoring device. The first one is useful on laptops and newest mobos based on NVIDIA chipsets, the second on is only for laptops and mobos from ASUStek - but won't hurt to have it "ready"

that looks pretty useful. i'll give it a try

To make things clear - this is NOT an addon or "driverpack". It's a SIMPLE COMPILATION of drivers for most used SATA controllers (plus some system files).
You have to unpack it and integrate them with nLite in usual way.

please would you be so kind and creato f an addon of this or explain to me how did you integrate thise your drivers with nLite... I have try a couple times but no luck
My steps (didnt work for me then)
1.extract your rar file after download.. to SATA drivers pack
2.then run nLite and mark Drivers - Next
3.Insert (then which single or multipe drive folder) and show SATA driver pack folder (or what?)
4.then txtmode driver or regular driver....
......
or please would you be so kind and ask someone to creat addon from yours sata drivers
my opinion is that this pack is very good and it would help a lot of people..
best regards to all

Simply add one driver after another, going thru every folder - it's not the best way, I agree - but I can live with that

Don't care about the txtmode or regular - take what nLite offers you as first. It depends on the fact, if in the folder is txtsetup.oem file or not.
Yes, they do - but as I said before, I don't use it and I only integrate SATA drivers I choose.pen25jf wrote:Doesn't Driverpacks.net have a third-party add-on pack similiar to this? I could be wrong, but they have a bunch of good add-on packs for HID, etc.
Me neitherpen25jf wrote:No, dont work for them

Btw, I will update the collection with newest ATI SB and IDE filter drivers.
As I promised, I updated my SATA drivers collection with newest drivers. This is NOT an addon nor DriverPack mini-package, it's just an simple compilation of drivers for most used SATA controllers and few drivers for overlooked system devices.
For integrating into XP source you have to unpack the drivers somewhere and then add one INF file after another into the list using nLite.

- updated ATI&AMD IDE/ATA133 driver to version 5.1.0.8. You won't find this in IGP Catalyts for XP - for some reason they are ony in Vista's package. However, XP is not only supported, but this is the perfect driver for owners of SB600 and SB700 based boards.
Previous version was in fact just INF file to configure built-in MS driver, this one has driver on it's own, supporting most of the devices based on SB450 to SB700 in IDE/SATA IDE mode.

hi longo213
i'd be really greatful if you can upload your sata drivers anywhere other than rapidshare or megaupload. The latters really break my heart.
here's one free and convenient hosting:

Hi all
While waiting for longo231's post to update the SATA drivers collection,
I have a question for the experts here.
Does the final Windows XP SP3 Service Pack (RTM 5512) after integrating (slipstreaming) with install CD, contain the latest SATA drivers, so that "F6" is not required for installing XP into SATA/RAID interface/hard-disks?
regards

And yes, I finally found some spare time

Anyway - bobotlito, Mediafire seems like very good service, I'll use it instead of RS. Thanks!

Just an FYI in addition to the answer to your question that others have given, AFAIK Service Packs don't include any drivers.Bhishmar wrote:Hi all

That's not quite true. The file SP?.cab is full of them. I'd imagine they're a mix of newer files than those included in driver.cab and files that weren't originally included.
5eraph wrote:
AFAIK Service Packs don't include any drivers.
The very idea of a servicepack release, other than fixing serious issues, is (or must be) to add driver capabilities to enable the os to work with devices marketted prior to the release of the oS/servicepack.
It is a pity M$ is so lazy, so as not to stick to this basic premise. Or they dont want XP+SP3 to become popular vizaviz Vista!!!
Can i use driver pack from www.driverpacks.net with RVM_Integrator_1.5.3 or do i need DPs_BASE to integrate them reply thanks in advance

A possible explanation is that your drive is set to IDE mode (instead of AHCI or RAID) in the BIOS of your PC.SymSpaceT wrote:in light of the "no sata drivers in WinXP SP3" opinion here, can somebody explain why my plain WinXP SP3 installs on a sata-II machine without any problems?

Thanks for the SATA drivers. I did the same thing, but for wifi drivers.
I can upload the collection if anyone is interested. I haven't had a chance to test all the drivers since I don't own every wifi cards.
Actually with nLite you don't have to add INF files individually, there is an option to select an entire folder.
