@ Raoul90: Just file versions needs to be same. File size is not important.
You need to repack the addon, in order to make it integratable.

@ all: Here is an addon pack that will update your MCE cab files to Update Rollup 2 release.
searchengine confirm's this addon pack worked for him.
This is an alpha of my update pack for mce components, that i'm working on. Looks like electrogens one, but not based on that. I created myself. The entries.ini file is ok, but the mceuppck.inf file is not finished yet. A work in progress. But it should work ok.

Please integrate this update pack, after ryans update pack integration.
Then integrate my installer addon on top of this one. You can use both at same time, though. In my tests with rvmi 1.5.1, the MEDIACTR.CAB file was corrupt all the time. For that reason i couldnt finish my installs.
If you can confirm that MEDIACTR.CAB is ok for you after integration (open it in winrar, click test files), i'll try to post a public beta, thats based on this.

This pack, contains KB900325, KB912024-v2 and KB925766 files in it. Will update MEDIACTR.CAB to update rollup 2. Only 3 kb's...

You would need Server 2003 to create a domain, unfortunately XP can only join one.

I hope to see a beta 3 soon would be lovely to have all the updates integrated instaed of me having to manually edit svcpack.inf and add them after your installer.

I can also confirm that beta 2 worked flawlessly for a friend of mine whos computer needed a rebuild. This was the fist live test that I've done and its come up good. I'll be rebuilding my own machine with beta 2 soon (unless beta 3 comes out quick hehe).

Recently, I've been trying different combinations to install with sp3 final in mind.... most recent testing I've done is on sp3-5508.

For sp3 with wmp11, this is what I find very successful for how I want to install.

Using nlite 145beta2

I use this MCE addon (I unpack and alter "medctroc" inf to remove all references to Theme files...and mcbliss) only so that I can choose my own default theme by oem folder and nlite.

I download Rollup2 from ms ...and extract it......and then extract kb900325....and I replace the ehres.dll with customized vista style dll...I then rebuild as silent installer with winrar sfx.....and place in svcpack folder and make addon

I extract wmp11 addon (from winaddons)...and replace wmplayer.exe and wmploc.dll with vista styled replacements....then rebuild as winrar. sfx silent installer and place in svcpack folder and make addon.

I go into COMPNTS folder and extract MEDIACTR CAB and remove 2x royale theme files and royale shell.dl......and remove mcbliss wallpaper....and again, replace the ehres.dll like I did in rollup2......I then rebuild the new cab.

So thats me done with altering files for custom styling.

I just slipstream in nlite with this order...and get silent install with custom theme....custom media center and custom wmp11....at first desktop:-

1. Mce addon v2
2. Rollup2 addon
3. WMP11 addon
4. Dotnetaio 1.2.3.3.5
5. Other usual addons

Just hope 5508 does not be
come final sp3....I find that and earlier 5503 to be less than 100%.....the 3264 to 3300 beta's much better....just hope ms don't waste a good
service pack in final stages.

cheers....perhaps shouldn't have posted the link....like you say...I was not uploading the ISO nor was I suggesting that anyone download....I was only trying to show pictures of mce installed themed.......but I do see how it could look a bit different.

My only intention was and is to try to show how successful this addon installs...if certain processes are followed in the correct order....in particular to get rollup2 installed without rolling back install.

Just hope any mods lookin thru this see the intentions meant.

Just want to let you all know. I have integrated orbit30's MCE addon into my Windows Home Server installation and am now going to try to integrate this addon since I think it is more compatible. WHS is built on SB Server 2003 SP2. I will let you all know the outcome!

Just in case there are others who might have the same question I did, and already understand how to create a 7z switchless just use this in the config.txt for the RunProgram= line:

RunProgram="update\update.exe /passive /norestart /o /n"

/o = overwrite oem files without prompt
/n = don't backup files necessary for uninstall
both above options are optional I think, but maybe /o is required for silent, I'm not sure.

so using this means don't have to extract 900325 and make my own silent kb install for rollup 2?

ok... I'm so close to having my build working...

1. Fresh Source

2. nLite + SP3(5508) + DmX's MCE Addons (both from this thread and update both the medctroc.inf / ehres.dll respectively with vista modded ones, also modded the ones in MEDIACTR.CAB)

3. redxii's dx9c (march) + rexii's post sp3 addon

4. built wmp11 from winaddons.com addon (replaced wmplayer.exe and wmploc.dll with modded ones, built wmp11.exe 7z silent - one that goes next to wmp11dist.exe - with config.txt calling "update\update.exe" and built the wmp11.exe that goes into svcpack folder with config.txt calling "setup_wm.exe /Q" (This doesn't seem to be right though as it didn't install properly! Any suggestions??? (Appreciated!)

5. NETFXAIO

6. Rest of my addons including IE7+tweaks...etc.

Setup runs perfectly doesn't (seem to) skip anything when installing components (like it would if there was a bad/conflicting addon) First boot into windows shows all addons, can start media center, wmp11 EDIT: did NOT install! (see above wmp11 description)

Just to reiterate Both addons of DmX's are working properly with the above setup!!!

EDIT: P.S. about to test with Driverpacks also... then live machine...

you r close, but don't use update3 with sp3.....update3 adds files to update sp2 and wmp10......u r usin sp3 and wmp11.....not surprising u having difficulty installing wmp11.

For sp3.....just the addon......kb900325....wmp11...and your modded files...do not try to update sp3/wmp11 with updates designed for sp2/wmp10.

The modded files u r using to customize wmp11 r version 5145.....so make sure that's the version you r altering.

stick with it....u r nearly there

EDIT: Just noticed someone else posted this as well... I can now confirm that it does give the option to change to a domain, but I am in the same situation as that person, no domain to join for "testing."

Well I'm now enjoying a fully working xp pro/mce unattended disk... I did notice that the option to join a domain is available... I don't have one to join though so I can't test... but it does allow to select that option once windows has booted up. /EDIT

My Computer>Properties>Computer Name [tab]>Change

has anyone tried this yet to see if it allows joining a domain?

use b2 + components... no need for the dotnetfx folder as b2 includes the needed .nets...

yes it is compatible with sp3

i slipstream in nLite this order:

copy components folder to source > slipstream sp3 > redxii post sp3 addon > MCE b2 addon > all other addons (I use a bunch and haven't had any issues with any, if you would like a specific list of what I use just PM me)

3. WMP 11 with updates (I read posts in boogy wmp11 slipstreamer and found out updates are causing some trouble in integration in sp3.Please shed sometime on this problem).
4.Kel `s runtimes.
5.java 6 updatepack

just make sure that .netAIO is slipped AFTER MCE Addon... this is the most important...

I don't have an SP0 disc so I use an SP2 source.

using this .bat file I slipstream SP3 manually (you can use nLite to slipstream, that works as well, I just use this .bat because it trims out some unneeded SP2 files...

a3 in this thread = rollup 2 update, but not needed if slipstreaming sp3 (all that is needed with sp3 is kb900325

Get update rollup2 from MS here: http://tinyurl.com/4mvgv8 then extract kb900325 from it, then you can either add that to svcpack.inf using the /quiet /norestart switches or rebuild it as a 7zSFX so that it is silent anyways...

now, as far as WMP11 I'm sure there is an update addon which includes the udpates... but I'm not sure where to find it...

I just downloaded the updates listed on boooggy's site and ran them with the switches... I'm sure this ads some time to the install... so I guess I'm going to try and find an addon which includes the updates, so I can eliminate having to run all those kb's manually @ svcpack. but right now it is working so I'm not complaining.

Can get the theme out of it. save's some more space to.
Remove some sample stuff. Posible some help file stuff to.
You could convert the intro wmv file to a lot shorter size. I converted it from about 44 mb to about 5 mb. Than make it into a cab file again.

Nice. I will test myself as an year ago I've asked for this add-on on the forum as I was unable to make it.

Now - about SP3 final version - it contains only updates to netfx, Tablet PC and Media Center 2004 inside.

When integrating ( slipstreaming ) over a Media Center 2005 CD it will update only netfx.cab, and the medroc inf, cat and dll files, no files will be copied in the Media Center Folder inside Cmpnents. And it seems to downgrade WMP from version 10 to version 9. Already tested.

If you have updated files for MCE 2005 - Update roll-up 2 ( KB900325 ) AND an other update for it - yes it's also an update for Rollup 2 - I will return with the KB number as soon I can, you may put them in the same folder with medroc.cab, sonic.cab and plus.cab but in individual cabinets ( example - ehshell.exe - ehshell.ex_ )and will be installed instead of those included in older cabinets.

I still work at this moment to make my standalone instalation as the older one I've made for SP2 gives errors after SP3 - no more need for some updates.

well, my way didn't work, not sure what I missed... but I'll try again on a weekend when I have some more free time to debug my mistakes... I will also do as you said and re-encode the wmv's for smaller size and then recab... this is very nice idea!

Well perhaps you don't need PLUS - this could be skipped, but SONIC libraries are used by MCE - contains not only burning engine but also AV codecs. You can skip this only if you use other third-party codecs.

wmv files could be removed if you don'y use them for setting MCE.
