Windows 2003 SP2 without MS IE 7 or IE 8beta - who made?
Anybody was make a Windows2003 Post SP2 addon without MS IE 7 or 8beta?
So the August hotfixes came out on Tuesday.
There are only 7 new hotfixes.
6 of these can be slipstreamed in nLite after this addon pack, no problems.
The 7th one is KB890830 MSRT v2.1 for August, which cannot be integrated with nLite.
nLite can slipstream all of these AFTER this addon is used...
IE7-WindowsServer2003-KB953838-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsServer2003-KB944338-v2-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsServer2003-KB950974-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsServer2003-KB951066-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsServer2003-KB952954-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsServer2003-KB953839-x86-ENU.exe
This one has to be a silent install...
windows-kb890830-v2.1.exe
(although I did the Resource Hacker trick and just added v2.1 of the "MRT.EX_" file to the I386 folder.)
Slipstreaming the 6 that you can slipstream in nLite added only about 500Kb to the built ISO file.
Just letting you know these 6 all seem pretty standard, even the IE7 one.

Good afternoon, when I use RUN Automatic OnePiece Win2K3 Post-SP2 UpdatePack Creator INTL.exe, I face the following problem:
in the content created OnePiece_Win2K3_Post-SP2_UpdatePack_v1.7.0_RUS.7z, I get the absence of the two files, in particular mucltui.dll and mucltui.mui.
When I integrates data updates through nlite, updates are integrated smoothly, but these files in the operating system not found.
I quote below a list of packages used to update:

Addon Maker is not fully compatible with Russian W2k3 but this will be added in a next release.
In the meantime download these 2 files:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7/mi ... ui.mui.cab
http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7/mi ... ucltui.cab
extract them and rename mucltui.dll.mui_ru in mucltui.mui, then copy the files in CD or in UpdatePack.
Russian is an Unicode language, so OPW2K3UP.inf must be converted in Unicode: see http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/6152/8 ... 5pmjd2.png.
Then take the lines from tzchange_Localizable.inf file and localize these other lines in OPW2K3UP.inf [Strings] section:

new release: thanks to RVM Integrator 1.5.4 beta, now there is only one version of Update Pack, working with both Nlite and RVMi 1.5.4, which doesn't work with previous RVMi builds.

I thought KB935560 was already uploaded on THS but it isn't so: I'll provide a link.
It's odd but KB943729 files downloaded and installed via WU are more recent than the one in the standalone executable hotfix.
If you rename your file as "Windows-en-US-KB943729.exe" Addon Maker will copy the right files and catalog
EDIT: now even KB935560 is on THS

Good afternoon when used Windows 2003 International Update Pack Maker on the Russian version does not swoop Windows-KB890830-V2.4.exe, specifically pump it, the result is the same.
but if you rename a Windows-KB890830-V2.4.exe in Windows-KB890830-V2.3.exe everything runs fine

Documentation update / Missing software install
Thank you for the update pack. It saves a LOT of time!
The MRT is now at 2.4, but the documenttation still lists it at 2.3. (KB890830) Malware Removal Tool v2.3
The Flash Player ActiveX control does not seem to install. At the end of the installation I could not find any trace of flash*.ocx anywhere on my system, and obviously going to http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/ also does not confirm the presence of the ActiveX control.

First I'd like say thank you for the great job all do with these projects. Could somebody please test to see if the post-sp2 updatepack creator from the link is working? I've downloaded it to a couple different computers and can't seem to do anything with it. The instructions so to unpack it to a folder, but I can't seem to unpack it with any of the normal tools (7-zip, WinRAR, Universal Extractor). Double-clicking it just flashes the hourglass for a second and nothing happens. Any idea where I'm going wrong?

@tr011_tmn: yes, it's true. it will be fixed in next release. Sorry. thanks.
@Chax0: I forgot to update MRT version in documentation: fixed, thanks. But we don't see any problem here with flash...
@eethball: It's not you. "I" am wrong: I leaved an old "unpack" instead of "run".... sorry!

It's important that IE7-WindowsServer2003-x86-xxx.exe file is in the same folder of UpdatePack Creator.
It's needed fot the correct localization of final UpdatePack: if it doesn't found it, it stops immediately with no error messages.

Seems SQL Server 2005 doesnt like having MSXML v6 installed before it tries to install it. So installation fails. Load up a disk with all updates -XML6 everything is fine. Load up disk with all updates - XML6 then install XML6 then SQL 05 causes it to fail to install.
Is there a way to remove MSXML 6 from this pack?

And Nonno Fabio back in 5 days with trying rispnderti from me (google.com/translate), when back after the ninth best explains everything.
My fault, you extract the msxml6.msi the update pack, and copy it manually in C:\WINDOWS\Installer, and it created some confusion in the latest release of msxml4 and masxm6, but everything ok, and a trivial error (so True resolved immediately), so the msml6.msi not been copied correctly.

The new pack works great but I was just wondering one thing. After this install finished I realized I failed to notice that Windows Search was installed with the pack. I was able to manually remove it, but I was just curious if there was a simple way to remove it from the update pack. I extracted the pack but I just wasn't sure what I was all suppposed to get rid of. Any input would be appreciated, and if it's not a real simple fix I'll just remove it from the system post-install. Thanks for all yours and Onepiece's work. It is greatly appreciated.

Then excuse for my English, Nonno Fabio and too busy for the moment, so I try respond by me
Tried to use RVMi, to the same problem?
However, the only one file that edit and from us, we will and the IE.INF, so you can use the Win2k3UP_IE7_Remove.exe to remove the IE7 from pack and after adding nlite, and after integrates with the nlite ie7.exe and other, and see if and OK after.
Ciao.

Strange, when I remove no componenten of the nLite "Operation System" section, it works. But I couldn't figure out what exactly caused the failing even after trying nearly 20 different combinations. I guess it has to do something with the Desktop Search Feature integrated into the package. Could you remove that silly, stupid thing?
I extracted the 7-Zip file and edited OPW2K3UP.infOnePiece Alb wrote:remove it after the installation
remove it from Update Pack both Windows Desktop Search or any other component
Does it matter which 7-Zip settings I use when I compress it again?
If this pack was for a workstation OS then I'd just go ahead and try it but its for a server in a production environment so I don't really want to risk compromising its stability by choosing incorrect compression settings.

It's ok I kept the pack as it was and removed Silverlight and Desktop Search using add/remove Windows Components (originally I didn't realize Silverlight could be removd this way).
