This registry key seems to be the only thing new in the package:
Code: Select all
HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer","HonorAutoRunSetting",0x10001,1
It's not new, it's from KB950582. I see no difference between KB967715 and KB950582, if you already have KB950582 then you probably weren't offered KB967715.
KB955074 already contained a newer GDR shell32.dll than both, the registry changes from KB950582 except "HonorAutoRunSetting". So I just put "HonorAutoRunSetting" into KB955074 section and deleted KB950582.

As usual, I spoke a bit too soon. The main reason I even brought it up was because I saw it in xable's pack.redxii wrote:It's not new, it's from KB950582. I see no difference between KB967715 and KB950582, if you already have KB950582 then you probably weren't offered KB967715.

I am, however, being offered 961118 even after doing a clean integration with your new pack... Any ideas why?

I guess I have to think things through a bit further before I post.5eraph wrote:If you're installing .NET 3.5 SP1, vioplujjnsjzfg, then that's why.

You're probably using another update pack in conjunction with mine. You're only supposed to use one update pack. Mine doesn't update or work with Ryan's or anyone else's. http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=87606#87606
I updated it but since it isn't important it can wait for the next release.FrizzleFry wrote:This security update was updated on March 10, 2009

i did not slipstream any update packs myself beside yours. Another kind of update pack may have been slipstreamed to the original MSDN SP3 ultra 2009 iso before. Ryan´s pack may be it, but i dont know that exactly. Unfortunately Ryan doesn´t update his pack very often and i was searching kind of alternative to slipstreaming all the hotfixes one-by-one after that manually. Besides i like the optional updates that you have included.
and i cant slipstream the MRT or update for root certificates manually.

Most important question is why and everything begins of your choice

interesting never heard of a slipstreamed, optimized, driver packed MSDN version ! would be interested in the SHA1 hash of your image.kaitsevaim wrote:warez??? if it were, it had genuine licence code. Can you tell me why MSDN should make something like that?..carefully optimized registry entries, updated aspi, slipstreamed ati and nvidia drivers a.s.o. very strange...

OK! Then i have to start over with a legitimate copy. I didnt realize it could be warez.
Yeah...its warez all right!
Code: Select all
Made with the passion and skill of elite MSFN lovers out of a Genuine XP SP3 MSDN version, over which have been added all the security updates till 29 DECEMBER 2008,
that Micro does not offer to you by classic update maneuver !!!

your answer is in the first post of this topicmasterm wrote:I see Ryan has not updated his pack yet and I need to create iso. What is the difference between this pack and the one Ryan creates.
I have searched for a similar question but could not find one
compare that to what is in ryan's. you'll notice a difference in what is or is not included
edit: this might make it easier to compare the two http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/updatepack-sp3.html

Just a curious question regards this update pack compare to Ryan's.
1. Is there any different between this and Ryan's?
2. Why is Ryan's update bigger? (~9MB different, even it's 2 months older)
3. Could I include RVMAddons 1.9.0 as well along with this update pack?
Thanks in advance for your kind reply =)

After I've reinstalled Windows I removed the Windows Media Player (I prefer to use Media Player Classic over it) like I always do i went on Microsoft Windows Update site and it put me to install two updates. KB952069 and KB941569. The first is already in the pack, while the second isn't. It's me or KB941569 should be included in the pack?
Great work by the way. Keep it up.

I don't see KB941569, these are all the updates I see:
If you removed stuff w/ nLite, then that's probably why.Critical:
Windows Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP
Optional:
Microsoft Base Smart Card Cryptographic Service Provider Package: x86 (KB909520)
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x86
Windows Search 4.0 for Windows XP (KB940157)
Windows Media Player 11
Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1
Microsoft Silverlight (KB960353)
Windows Live Essentials
KB941569 is already partially obsoleted by SP3 (wmasf.dll) and by KB952069 (wmvcore.dll).
But still, those hotfixes showing aren't a result of me not including them, it's a result of having removed those files. I don't modify my source other than the update pack, my virtual machine doesn't install any other additional updates or new versions so it's much faster to check for new updates.

The only tool I used was RVM Integrator. Got my CD updated with your update pack among some other addons to mostly remove some unwanted stuff.
Pressed a *special* key on my keyboard and it started WMP 9 while I wanted Winamp to kick in not it. Just canceled and then removed it from 'Add/Remove Windows Components'. I'll do more tests about it on a virtual box and will let you know my findings.

adding packs, addons and making the final product with nLite
Hi I’m a newbie here, and would just like to take a moment to say that I think this is a great site for anyone who wishes to learn how to improve and make windows xp better.
I would like to know if it will it be ok if I add the following Updatepack and addons with Ryan’s integrator 1.6.7z, and then modify my cd using Nlite 1.4.9.1 to remove stuff and make the final iso?
These are what I want to add
RVMUpdatePackSP3 1.0.3.7z or RED XP SP3_UpdatePack_03.09-01.7z (but not both)
Stimpy IE8-ADDON-ENU-V1.0.2.7Z
DotNetFx_All_In_1_Addon_v2.4.7z
Also, can I add these all in one go, or do I need to add each one at a time, and are the addons in the correct order? Also should I tick the optimize system files box?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Take a look here for a complete list of suggested addons http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6994
Basically I would go for the following instead
Post-SP3 by Onepiece (DX9, IE8, WMP11 are included)
http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6438
.Net Framework by Stimpy
http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6431
Always use the "Optimize" checkbox
There should be no correct ordering for your addons you desire, IMO

It really doesn't matter which version is used. The only "updates" to resetwmi have been inconsequential things like changes to the build process, adding a 64-bit version, typo fixes in the comments, etc.--nothing that affects the actual function of the original 32-bit binary. The files get updates so that all my sources are in sync (and so that people hoping to use it as sample code get the latest source), but the updates are all silent because there is no reason whatsoever for current users to grab the new version.retalion wrote:The resetwmi you're using is quite old, later version is out.
I don't remember adding KB909520.
Qfecheck doesn't give me any errors.. all I did was set the MSRT version key and bump the update pack version, that's it, so if you're just now seeing that error another addon is causing the error for you.
I set one of KB923561's files, sysmain.sdb, to the wrong path in the Updates key.. but still, I do not have any errors from qfecheck. That doesn't mean the hotfix isn't correctly installed.

I don't integrate much (since I prefer switchless), and the other addons that I use never gave problems before with RMVi or your pack
RED_XP_SP3_UpdatePack_05.09-01.7z
RedDXRuntimes_0.7.0_32bit.exe
WGA_Validation_AddOn_1.9.40.0-2_-_redxii.7z
Kels_Runtimes_addon_v5.2.rar
HashCheck-2.1.8-Addon.7z
xable_CalcPlus-v1.3_addon.cab
Boooggy's WMP11 slipstreamer
Hmm, could be that nLite goofed something, I use it for some tweaks at the very last. On the other hand, I use a preset for that, and I haven't changed it for ages.
