A Birth and a Death...

Post by Siginet » Thu Jun 19, 2008 5:51 pm

Well my third child was born at 8pm On June 18th 2008. It was a healthy baby girl 20 inches and 7.13 Pounds. :D

But... that same night my cousin was in a fatal accident that took his life. :( He had just turned 18 yrs old. Just graduated High School. Just got a job in the profession that he was going to college for.

I am so torn with emotions right now. No words can describe.

My cousin and I were very close. He was like a little brother to me. Sometimes I even felt like a father figure to him. I have been crying all morning... then I look at my new baby girl and crack a smile. I'm trying my best to stay happy on a day that is supposed to be filled with joy. I don't want my saddness to rub off of me and my little girl feel like I am sad that she came into this world.

I'm really sorry to hear this news Siginet. It's so sad what has happened, but maybe just think that your cousin is looking out for your baby girl, and he'll do his best to look out for her.

I'm not a religious person, but I like to think that things happen that are bigger than me, for reasons that are bigger than me.

Relish in your new daughter Sigi, thats what your cousin expects you to do. Go, be the best dad for her.

Just know that someone higher than yourself is looking out for you Siginet. The painful emotions will pass over time and you will be left with the fond memories of the person you lost.

It is a terrible tragic event, but let us pray that you can overcome. We are not with you in person, but in spirit. We wish the best for you and your child.

I've been away from the forums for longer than I had in quite a while and just read this.

Been away for awhile.

Sorry to hear about your cousin. My father just passed away last November.

All I can say is this:
No one knows the future. Even the most faithful fear death, because none of us know with absolute certainty whether or not there is an afterlife. There is no proof.

We DO know none of us will live forever, and that we DO, at the very least, have this one life.

Whatever your faith may be, perhaps there IS an afterlife, perhaps not. I respect your beliefs regardless.

But we do, for sure, have this one life. I, for one, plan to enjoy it to the fullest. And not mourn for those who are no longer with us, but rather, celebrate the life they had and the joy they brought us.

Remember him by living your life, and passing his memories onto your newborn.

Wish you well,
