Micro$oft reason to update dxwebsetup.exe
seems to be only to bundle it with Bing (tool)Bar,
since no update are delivered. See that picture:

we are pleased if M$ f...k itself, his bar !

many thanks for this
I noticed that during install the dxrt.inf file displays a small progress bar for several seconds while copying files.
To ensure no progress display, I added a dx.cmd file to install dxrt.inf in silent mode...
dx.cmd
and edited 7z config to run dx.cmd silent
7z config
runinf.exe was no longer needed.
thanks again

Advanced INF Installer - LaunchINFSection using RunDLL32
This link http://www.mdgx.com/INF_web/launch.htm explains how Rundll32 is used to install inf silently using a <flag>... in this case 1 (ie. rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection dxrt.inf,DefaultInstall,1 >nul)

DirectX End-User Runtimes 9.29.1974 Redistributable (April 2011)
microsoft updated redistributable as well
although I am afraid that what was updated does not affect the current addon, only the version maybe "9.29.1974"
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... px?id=8109
and also here is the microsoft bla bla regarding the dx webupdate update...which they say is the reason for updating the redistributable...

Yumeyao seems to have silently updated his:
"YumeYao_DirectXRuntimes_201006_Addon_32.cab", on 21.08.2012
(embedded files are same: only changes in runinf.exe & dxrt.inf)
His changelog shows:
Or are these only some cosmetic changes.

updated runinf.exe. to support "/q" better. (Now no issues or flashing windows)
updated main inf file to force overwriting files. (Filecopy: filename,,,4)
Or are these only some cosmetic changes.
